Books and Programs

In addition to blogging, I actually have a couple of books out and a couple of video programs.

The Humanist Approach to Happiness Life Skills Course by Jennifer Hancock: Living Made Simpler

I'm pretty excited to be able to offer a 6 week Humanist life skills course!

While I cannot guarantee that you will be happy all the time after taking this course, what I can promise you is that you will have a better understanding of what sort of person you want to be and why. You will probably also find that you have a renewed dedication to living your life the way you already know you should be living it, fully, and intentionally. Topics covered include: Ethics, Critical Thinking, Compassion, Responsibility and Coping.

My latest book is called: The Bully Vaccine.

This book is designed to help parents vaccinate their kids against bullies and other obnoxious petty people. By preparing for them in advance you can effectively inoculate yourself against the worst of their behavior.

The goal is to not be the sort of person a bully targets. It is much easier to prevent bullying than it is to stop it once it starts.

In this book you will find:
  • Practical information on how to vaccinate yourself so that you don't make a good target.
  • What exactly to do if you have decided to stand up to bullies to protect someone else.
  • How to stop bullying after it's started.
  • And how to get help when you need it.

This materials is also available as a Home Vaccination Toolkit.

My first book is called "The Humanist Approach to Happiness: Practical Wisdom." It is a book aimed at teens and young adults. The first part of the book is the hows and whys of the Humanist philosophy - don't worry, it's not boring - I teach you all about how to be a dork - seriously I do.  The 2nd half applies those principles to real life - things like dating, your health, grief and well, life.  So please check it out - you won't be disappointed.

My second book is a short ebook called Jen Hancock's Handy Humanism Handbook. It's a short and hopefully sweet introduction to the philosophy of Humanism.  If you want to get a free copy - join my mailing list. Otherwise it is available for 99c at all the ebook stores or you can get a paperback edition for about $6.00.

I also created a DVD called "An Introduction to Humanism"  It is designed for use by Humanist groups to provide introductions to their members.  You can see the entire series for free online at my youtube site. The DVD really is just for use in presentation settings, or for people who don't like looking at things on youtube.

Details on the DVD are at: http://introdvd.jen-hancock.com/
